Bemis Company, Inc., incorporated on May 18, 1885, is a manufacturer of packaging products. The Company operates through two business segments: U.S. Packaging and Global Packaging. The Company offers its products primarily to the customers in the food industry. Its other customers include companies operating in a range of businesses, including chemical, agribusiness, medical, pharmaceutical, personal care, electronics, automotive, construction and other consumer goods. The Company’s sales offices and plants are located throughout North America, Latin America, Europe and Asia-Pacific.

U.S. Packaging Segment

The Company’s U.S. Packaging segment represents food, consumer and industrial products packaging-related manufacturing operations in the United States. This segment manufactures multilayer polymer, blown and cast film structures to produce packaging for food and personal care product applications, as well as non-food applications. The Company offers these products to markets, such as processed and fresh meat, dairy, liquids, frozen foods, cereals, snacks, cheese, coffee, condiments, candy, pet food, bakery, lawn and garden, tissue, fresh produce, personal care and hygiene, disposable diapers, and agribusiness. This segment has 28 manufacturing plants located in 13 states, of which 27 are owned directly by the Company or its subsidiaries and one is leased from an outside party.

Global Packaging Segment

The Company’s Global Packaging segment is engaged in packaging-related manufacturing operations outside the United States, as well as global medical device and pharmaceutical packaging manufacturing operations. This segment manufactures multilayer polymer, blown and cast film structures to produce packaging for a range of food, medical, pharmaceutical, personal care, electronics and industrial applications. Its additional products include injection molded plastic and folding carton packaging. The Company offers its products to a range of markets, such as processed and fresh meat, dairy, liquids, snacks, cheese, coffee, condiments, candy, bakery, tissue, fresh produce, personal care and hygiene, disposable diapers, agribusiness, pharmaceutical and medical devices. This segment has 32 manufacturing plants located in three states of the United States, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, and 10 non-United States countries, of which 26 are owned directly by the Company or its subsidiaries and six are leased from outside parties.
